Real Madrid forward Robinho insists he still hopes to join Chelsea, revealing negotiations are ongoing.
With only three days remaining until the end of the transfer window, there is still no definitive resolution to the Brazil international's possible move to the Barclays Premier League.
Reports in the Spanish press suggest the 24-year-old will stay at the Bernabeu, with Madrid rejecting a 30million euro bid.
But Chelsea are equally as confident he will move to Stamford Bridge and started advertising replica Robinho shirts for sale on their official online store yesterday.
However, the man himself claims the last word on the issue has not yet been heard.
"I have a contract with Real Madrid now, but we are still negotiating with Chelsea," Robinho told globoesporte.
Media reports have also claimed Robinho is set to apologise to Real and their fans for publicly declaring his desire to leave the reigning two-time Primera Liga champions to join compatriot Luiz Felipe Scolari - the Chelsea coach.
However, the Brazil star has rubbished any such notion.
"A lot of things are being published and they are not the truth," added Robinho. "It is not true that I said that I was going to apologise to the press.
"We are working to seal my future, nothing else."
Scolari, meanwhile, is still waiting for the phone call to tell him Robinho is coming to Stamford Bridge.
The player was training with Real this morning and cannot now sign in time to play against Tottenham on Sunday.
And Scolari admitted he has no idea whether chief executive Peter Kenyon will be able to conclude the deal before the transfer window closes on Monday night.
He said: "I don't know about Robinho because it is not my job to enter into talks about players. I said something to Peter a month ago and they tried to bring Robinho here but my job is on the pitch.
"If they can bring him here it will be down to board meetings and I have to think about Tottenham not about whether players have come or have not come.
"I don't know anything because I have not spoken to Peter for the last two days."
Scolari has so far signed only one player - Deco - since succeeding Avram Grant in the summer but had always been keen on acquiring Robinho as well.
He said of his countryman: "He is a very good player but it is not only me that wants him, all the coaches in the world do too.
"But at the moment what is happening on the pitch is the only important thing for me. For my players to play well against Tottenham is what matters."
