Barcelona youngster Bojan Krkic has signed a new contract with the Catalan giants, tying him to the club until 2013.
Bojan, whose fresh deal has a buy-out clause of 80million euros, penned the contract on Friday morning just a day after turning 18 years old.
"I'm very happy here. I'm a young player and, just like last year, I hope to continue to have the confidence of the coaches," Bojan said.
"Being in the first team at 18 is a privilege.
"I think that last season was very good for me, but that is now in the past. Everything is new and we all have to start from scratch. I need to take advantage of the minutes I am given this term."
Having been a prolific scorer in the club's youth ranks, Bojan became the fourth youngest player to play in Barca's first team when he made his senior debut in a friendly in April last year at the age of 16 and nine months.
The teenager then made his competitive debut against Osasuna last September, before becoming the youngest scorer in a league game in club history when he netted in the 3-1 defeat against Villarreal in October.
Among Bojan's other achievements, he also took over the mantle of the youngest player to represent Barca in an official European match before finishing his maiden season with 12 goals in 48 appearances.
Born in Spain to a Serbian father and a Catalan mother, Bojan has represented Spain at both Under-17 and Under-21 level, winning the European Under-17 title in 2007.
He was called up to the senior squad by former Spain coach Luis Aragones prior to Euro 2008, however illness prevented him from playing a friendly against France and he withdrew from consideration for the European Championships, citing fatigue.
The youngster was also included in new Spain coach Vicente del Bosque's first Spain squad for last week's friendly against Denmark in Copenhagen, but did not play.
Del Bosque then omitted Bojan from his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Armenia, which he named on Friday.
However, amid reports that new Serbia coach boss Radomir Antic was considering calling him up, Bojan said on Friday: "I am very grateful to Antic, because he has confidence in me. But I'm Spanish and I feel Spanish and I will play with the national team."
