Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has been named Championship Manager of the Month for August, beating Alan Irvine, Alex McLeish and Gary Johnson.
Irvine of Preston, Birmingham's McLeish and Bristol City chief Johnson were also in the running for the first gong of the season.
However, it was McCarthy who got the nod as a reward for Wolves' fantastic start to the campaign.
Wolves were held to a 2-2 draw by Plymouth in their opening match but have bounced back with three successive wins to go top of the table.
They have scored nine goals in two matches at Molineux and McCarthy admits he has been delighted with his side's cutting edge.
"Last season we dominated games but didn't win them. We've started scoring goals and that is the most pleasing aspect," McCarthy told Sky Sports News.
"We've had a good start and had some convincing wins.
"We're not getting carried away but it's nice to be top of the league with a two-week break.
"It is difficult to assess the squad. It is a young team but they have got experience as well and they are a little bit wiser than they were last season."
Meanwhile Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has won the League One Manager of the Month award, beating John Sheridan, John Ward and Micky Adams.
Pearson, who took charge at the Walkers Stadium in the summer, beat Oldham boss Sheridan, Carlisle chief Ward and Brighton manager Adams to the prize.
The Foxes have made a superb start to life in League One and currently lead the table on goal difference from Oldham.
Leicester remain unbeaten in League One after winning three of their opening four games.
And in League Two, Mark Robins of Rotherham was given the nod ahead of John Still, Paul Simpson and Alan Knill.
Robins was handed the accolade after emerging from a four-man short-list which included Dagenham & Redbridge's Still, Shrewsbury manager Simpson and Bury boss Knill.
The Millers began the League Two campaign with a 17-point penalty imposed by the Football League due to their financial difficulties, and have also moved to the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield to play their home fixtures.
But they have started in impressive style, with three wins and a draw from their opening four matches to substantially reduce the deficit.
Robins has also guided the club through to the third round of the Carling Cup after victories on penalties against Championship sides Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves.
They will now take on a third Championship outfit with Southampton handed a lengthy trip to Yorkshire.
