Fabio Capello believes England are finally ready to throw off their Wembley shackles.
The Three Lions return to the national stadium on Saturday for the first time since Capello stated his side were more comfortable on opposition soil due to the demanding nature of the England fans.
Since then, England have opened their World Cup qualifying campaign in superb fashion, beginning Group Six with an expected win over Andorra before an astonishing victory over Croatia in Zagreb.
It could be argued that the win, achieved thanks to Theo Walcott's hat-trick, has only reignited opinions that England are about to conquer the world, something that would have been laughable itself in the summer as Capello's players watched Spain win Euro 2008 from the luxury of their own armchairs.
However, the England coach feels slowly confidence within his squad, so badly shattered at the end of Steve McClaren's short reign, is now returning.
And he is expecting a top-class performance against Kazakhstan on Saturday.
"Ahead of the previous games, I said that playing away from Wembley was helpful," the Italian said in his column for the official match programme.
"I said this because there is often less pressure playing away from home.
"With 90,000 supporters at home, there is great expectancy.
"Now that we have some of that crucial confidence back, I am sure that starting today (Saturday), it will be easier for the players to perform to the best of their ability and that the Wembley crowd will generate a big atmosphere for the team."
Although the Croatia triumph will go down as one of the best performances England have produced in recent times, Capello is eager not to spend too much time looking backwards.
Rather than reflect on a past glory, the former Juventus coach feels there would be more benefit using the knowledge gained to obtain positive results in the months ahead.
"We must not get carried away with the performance against Croatia. It was one win," said Capello.
"Zagreb has been a very difficult place to get a result for every country and it was a positive step forward but there is still a long way to go in the group.
"I am determined that we will always concentrate on the next match, not the one we have just played - that is gone now."
The arrival of Kazakhstan should not present too many problems.
England have never played the former Soviet state before but past results indicate there should not be much problem beating them on home soil.
Steven Gerrard is likely to replace Joe Cole but that could be the only change from Zagreb, with Capello adamant preparation will be just as intense this week as it was a month ago.
"Kazakhstan are our third opponents in the group, and it is important we continue the positive start we have made so far," he said.
"This is the first time they have played England and I know how determined they will be to make things difficult for us.
"However, I will be telling the players that so long as we approach the game in the right way, play with a good tempo and maintain our discipline we can get the result and performance we want."
