Brian Laws feels the international break cannot come soon enough for Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls boss admits he could be forced to draft in some defenders on loan ahead of the Steel City derby clash at Hillsborough on October 19 due to another injury crisis.
He said: "For us in particular the international break is a blessing because it will allow the lads like Richard Wood and Peter Gilbert to get back fit.
"We missed them (at Plymouth) and then Tommy Spurr has gone down with an ankle injury that could put him out for weeks.
"We have got to look at this very closely and see if we can bring somebody in.
"Every other area - midfield and up front - we seem to have cover but defensively we are really stretched. They were all attackers on the bench and that in itself tells a story."
