KEEGAN READY FOR TOON RETURN
Kevin Keegan is ready to return to Newcastle United, according to The Sun.
A month after his resignation, Keegan is apparently poised to move back to St James' just as soon as Mike Ashley has sold the club. Ashley is believed to have found seven prospective buyers interested in acquiring the club for around £280m.
'If Ashley accepts, King Kev could return this month,' the newspaper reports. 'The Newcastle idol flew back from a break in the USA to tell pals he is ready to take up the reins once new owners are found.'
'A source close to Keegan' is quoted as saying: "Kevin has had a great break, is feeling refreshed and wants to return.
"He knows what it would mean for all the fans and he wants a fresh crack at the club he loves.
"Of course, new owners have to come in but he has been pleased to see his name mentioned by prospective buyers. He is now just waiting to see what happens with things."
MOYES QUESTIONED BY EVERTON PLAYER(S)
David Moyes was reportedly questioned by Everton players about his future with the club in the wake of their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
In what is described as a 'heated exchange', in which 'Joseph Yobo and Joleon Lescott, and midfielder Mikel Arteta, came under fire for the way failings at the back and carelessness in possession again cost them dear', the Daily Mail claims that the tables were then turned on Moyes himself.
'Although Moyes posed most of the questions, he had to deal with at least one himself as some senior players apparently queried whether he would still be in charge by the end of the week,' it reports.
'Rumours persist linking him with Newcastle, Celtic and even Tottenham, and there are concerns he may see a UEFA Cup exit at the hands of Standard Liege tomorrow as the final straw, following difficulties in the transfer market during the summer and continuing uncertainty over his new contract.'
QUINN CONFIDENT OF KEANE DEAL
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn is confident manager Roy Keane will sign a new contract within weeks.
The Black Cats boss embarked upon the final year of his current three-year deal at the start of the new season, but has repeatedly insisted he is relaxed about the future.
However, Quinn revealed initial talks with Keane's solicitor, Michael Kennedy, began last week after funding for the next two years was secured, and he is optimistic of a positive outcome in the near future.
Quinn said: "We have just opened up negotiations with Roy's solicitor last week, and that will move along nicely, I hope.
"You never know, we will see, but I am pretty confident we will have something nice to say in the next few weeks.
"I didn't want to go to Roy Keane with a new contract offer when I couldn't tell him what was happening in 12 months' time, because the minimum contract would have been a year.
"Now hopefully this year, we will be okay and maybe a couple after.
AND A DEAL THAT HAS BEEN DONE: SAVAGE JOINS BRIGHTON
Brighton have completed the signing of Derby midfielder Robbie Savage on a one-month loan deal.
The 33-year-old former Wales international has failed to hold onto a first-team place at Pride Park this season and has opted to drop down a division to link up with Micky Adams - his former manager at Leicester.
"We're delighted to have Robbie here," Adams told seagulls.co.uk

"You don't need to post this comment as its only really for the moderator. Thank you for helping me prove to my friend that you are bias at Football 365. I posted a rather sensible comment yesterday which was positive towards Kevin Keegan, and it didn't get published. I bet my friend £10 that I could get my next comment published so I wrote "Kevin Keegan is useless"; surprise surprise it was published. Thank you 365 for being so predictable! At this rate I can start thinking about quitting my job......."

"It would be a great shame for the game to allow Kevin Keegan to return to Newcastle. Let's face it, it's not like he had returned the club to its glory days during the time he has been there in his 2nd spell. Kevin Keegan does not have the winning attitude. A true manager and leader would have stuck it out no matter what the situation was with the board. Keegan has demonstrated that he is not able to get the best out of the players he has. When you compare him to great managers like Ferguson or Wenger then it is all there in black and white. Kevin Keegan is more like the school boy denied in a sweet shop than someone who can build great teams and win! Kevin Keegan - if you have any sense then stay away from Football!!! and if true fans of Newcastle have any sense then stop supporting such a loser!"

"What you got against Keegan? Is he too honest, too decent I guy to be respected? Id rather have keegan anyday than a cretin like wenger, ferguson or benitez. Newcastle is a great city and is one of the best football atmospheres you could ever experience Some of you people need to grow up and show a bit more maturity"

"So Kevin's had yet ANOTHER great break or more correctly bottled it again. I hope all Everton players and fans keep faith with Moyes, he is no bottler or fool and as for him taking on NUFC (who cant find a decent manager or recognise one ) only equalled by Spurs in their idiocy I somewhat doubt David Moyes would seek a position that would show no respect. Let's hope for NUFC fans the new buyers have their own man which should not be King Bottler Kev"

"i'm a Newcastle fan and am from Newcastle. i'm probably the only 1 who thinks mike ashley is a hero and had the club goin in the right direction until kevin keegan walked out again!!!!!!!!!! just as he did back in the 90's. "

"As the proud father of 2 geordies I regretfully have to agree with the majority here. Keegan is a serial bottler who WILL be in charge of Newcastle again and WILL bottle it again - He may last a year but it's doubtful. At least then the Newcastle faithful will know for sure what an arse he is. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that by then they will have new owners and maybe they will get a decent manager to replace him. Don't hold your breath though."
