Ipswich have completed the signing of Kevin Lisbie from Colchester for an undisclosed fee.
Lisbie has agreed a three-year contract at Portman Road after spending just one season with Colchester.
The former Charlton forward notched 17 goals last term, but had been keen to stay in the Championship after the U's relegation.
Colchester had been hoping to persuade Lisbie to stay, with manager Geraint Williams praising the player's contribution to the club.
"We are obviously disappointed to lose Kevin," Williams told the club's official website.
"We showed how much we wanted to keep him and did our best in that regard. However, the lure of Championship football proved too great and he has decided that he would like to join Ipswich.
"On a personal note, I would like to thank Kevin for his service.
"We have been good for his career and he has been good for Colchester United with the quality he has shown."
