AC Milan defender Marek Jankulovski confirmed he was quitting international football following the Czech Republic's elimination from the 2010 World Cup.
A goalless draw at home to Northern Ireland killed off their hopes of a play-off place, with Slovenia taking second place in Group Three and Slovakia finishing top.
Jankulovski, 32, has decided to call time on an international career in which he won 78 caps and told www.fifa.com: "I can confirm this. This was my last game. It has been a wonderful 10 years."
Ivan Hasek, who had taken charge of the side on a short-term basis in July, was also overseeing his last game at the helm.
