Guillame Hoara's second-half strike gave Paris St Germain their first win of the season in a hard-fought game against Bordeaux.
Hoara scored in the 52th minute after capitalising on a mistake by Mathieu Chalme to slide the ball past goalkeeper Ulrich Rame.
The visitors could have opened the scoring in the first half, but failed to take advantage of their opportunities and were punished by Paul Le Guen's men.
Bordeaux were keen to build on their opening day victory over Caen last weekend and looked dangerous in the early stages.
Fernando Cavenaghi tested Mickael Landreau with a long-range effort in the 25th minute, but the PSG keeper easily stopped his shot.
Cavenaghi forced a more impressive stop two minutes later when he fired a fierce shot towards the bottom corner, only for Landreau to tip the ball round the post.
The visitors continued their dominance in the second-half when Wendel's shot was parried by Landreau and Yoann Gourcoff fired the rebound wide.
And the midfielder was left to rue that missed opportunity when Le Guen's side took the lead against the run of play n the 52nd minute.
Jerome Rothen took advantage of a Chalme error and set up Hoara, who rifled the ball past Rame.
Wendel forced a good save from Landreau a minute later, but it was the home side who almost doubled their lead when Stephane Sessegon released Ludovic Giuly in the 65th minute.
The former Barcelona winger's effort beat the keeper, but came back off a post.
Cavenaghi could have earned a point for Laurent Blanc's men four minutes later, but he fired wide when he was through on goal.
