Guillaume Hoarau believes his hard work of the past few years is starting to pay off after getting his Paris St Germain career off to a flying start.
The summer signing from Le Havre grabbed the winner for PSG in their 1-0 victory over Bordeaux on Saturday, a week after impressing on his debut for the capital club in the 1-0 defeat to Monaco.
The 24-year-old, the top scorer in Ligue 2 last season with 28 goals, looks to be a shrewd acquisition by Paul Le Guen.
And the striker has warned there is a lot more to come from him.
"For any attacker, it is important to open your goalscoring account," he said.
"I have found the net so I am happy, but I will not stop there.
"I know what I have to do to be able to impose myself at this level and the road is still long. I have worked hard for two years to be able to play in these kind of matches.
"Everyone dreams of playing in matches like these and the dream has come a reality for me.
"I hope that isn't my last goal. I am going to continue to learn my trade. But with the quality of passers I have behind me here, I am going to have more chances."
Hoarau had big boots to fill having taken the number nine shirt off Pedro Pauleta, the former Portugal international who quit PSG at the end of last season.
But after being a stand-out performer in the second tier last season, Hoarau has taken to top-flight football like a duck to water.
"I think that having made the step up last year, there is another step to climb this year too," he added.
"I am going to do all I can to continue to progress."
Hoarau, who hails from Reunion, a French-governed island located east of Madagascar, could soon be joined up front at PSG by Mateja Kezman, who is expected to complete his move from Fenerbahce early this week.
