Elie Baup has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant coaching post at Ligue 1 side Nantes.
With Alain Perrin having rejected the chance to take the place of the sacked Michel Der Zakarian, the likes of Baup and former France coach Jacques Santini have been linked to the post.
And Baup, who parted company with Toulouse at the end of last season, admits he would not think twice if he was to receive an offer from Les Canaris.
"Yes, clearly, if they were to contact me, I would not refuse Nantes," he told L'Equipe.
"But there has been no contact and no offer from the Nantes board yet.
"It is true that I have heard my name doing the rounds, but it is more the media who are doing the talking."
Baup, who has also coached Bordeaux and St Etienne, is a respected figure in French football.
He claims he was approached by English Premier League club Blackburn this summer before they finally opted for Paul Ince as a replacement for Mark Hughes.
And a bullish Baup believes his CV stands up to scrutiny.
"I can understand (why Nantes would want him as coach)," he said.
"If you look at my experience, my 10 years training and my 13 years in the top flight, I fit the profile they are looking for.
"Everyone knows the work I have done but, for the moment, I am not letting all this get to my head."
Der Zakarian was dismissed as Nantes coach on Tuesday following the team's poor start to the season, which has seen them pick up just one point from their first three Ligue 1 games.
They are currently second from bottom in the fledgling table.
Perrin, the former Lyon coach, was approached to take over but Nantes revealed on Wednesday he would not be joining the club.
