Paris St Germain coach Paul Le Guen claims he is pleased with Tuesday's UEFA Cup draw despite the French side being drawn in perhaps the toughest of the eights pools.
PSG kick off their campaign with a tricky trip to German side Schalke on October 23 before welcoming Racing Santander to the Parc des Princes a month later.
The capital club will also face Manchester City and FC Twente in a tough Group A, but Le Guen is confident his team will not be one of the two to miss out on a place in the next round.
"I'm happy with the draw, because we will face prestigious opponents," he told the official club website.
"I also have to remember my satisfaction to have eliminated Kayserispor, who won 4-1 at Fenerbahce in the league at the weekend. We knew how to avoid a potential pitfall."
Despite being excited at the prospect of facing such illustrious teams, Le Guen is well aware of the size of the task his team faces.
The PSG coach is most wary of Schalke and a Manchester City side inspired by the signing of Robinho.
"This group stage will be difficult for us," he added. "Schalke are formidable opponents who were in the Champions League last season.
"Manchester City are a team who have considerably reinforced themselves and who are very dangerous.
"This team have a strong Brazilian contingent, notably with Robinho, Jo and Elano.
"Regarding Racing Santander and Twente, well I don't really know those two teams. Twente beat Rennes in the last round, so we can also ask them for some information.
"I'm happy with the draw, it will give us the opportunity to play in some big stadiums, against big teams.
"I'm also happy to be playing host to Santander and Twente at the Parc des Princes."
