Ligue 1 basement boys Le Havre staved off relegation - for 10 days at least - with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at fellow relegation battlers Nantes.
Christian Bekamenga put the hosts ahead midway through the first half but Mamadou Diallo restored parity six minutes before the interval and then Florian Marange struck the winner just after the hour.
The victory will surely provide only a stay of execution for the Normandy club, who have been teetering on the brink for a while now and remain nine points adrift at the bottom.
Elie Baup's Nantes could have given themselves some breathing space with a win, but instead remain firmly entrenched in the mire - in 18th spot.
It all looked to have been going to plan for the home side when Bekamenga, back in the line-up following an ankle problem, powered a fine shot past Johny Placide following neat build-up play involving Djamel Abdoun, David De Freitas and Ricardo Faty.
The visitors, heading into this encounter at the Stade de la Beaujoire on the back of three straight defeats, responded well and were denied a 32nd-minute equaliser when goalkeeper Jerome Alonzo blocked Hassane Alla's shot following a quick counter-attack.
Alla had another chance eight minutes before the break when he latched onto Diallo's cross from the left and produced a stinging volley, but again Alonzo was equal to it with a fine reflex save.
Two minutes later, however, Le Havre were on level terms as Diallo headed home after Nicolas Dieuze had diverted Kevin Anin's cross towards him.
Bekamenga came close to notching his second of the match seven minutes into the second half to restore Nantes' lead, but Placide punched clear.
Placide again had to be alert to keep out a Frederic Da Rocha effort after he had been released by Ivan Klasnic in the 57th minute.
But there was to be only one more goal in the game and it came at the other end just after the hour mark.
Mamadou Bagayoko cleared Jamel Ait Ben Idir's corner but Marange picked up the pieces 25 yards out, advanced and fired the winner past Alonzo.
The match could even have finished with a more emphatic scoreline had Ait Ben Idir's free-kick flown just a few inches lower midway through the second half.
