Out-going Nice coach Frederic Antonetti will be disappointed to have ended his four-year association with the club with a drab goalless draw against rock-bottom Le Havre.
Antonetti was given a rousing send-off by the fans however, in his last game at the helm before he leaves in the summer to take over at Rennes.
Le Havre coach Frederic Hantz, whose future is also up in the air, will be more pleased with the result.
It counted for little for either team but it means the basement boys, who have propped up the league since the beginning of December, avoided defeat in their final Ligue 1 match.
The visitors started brightly and almost took the lead in spectacular fashion in the seventh minute as Jamel Ait Ben Idir's screamer from the edge of the box crashed off the crossbar.
They should have gone in front four minutes later but Mamadou Diallo somehow managed to blaze over with an open goal at his mercy.
Nice's best chance came in the 27th minute when a stunning effort from Anthony Modeste beat Le Havre goalkeeper Mike Van Hamel
but brushed the outside of the left hand post.
The hosts almost broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when Adeilson controlled the ball well before unleashing a shot which Van Hamel did well to keep out.
Le Havre had very few chances in the second half with their best coming in the 73rd minute when Jean-Michel Lesage's powerful effort scraped the top of the crossbar.
Adeilson had two good opportunities late on for Nice but he was first denied by a fingertip save from Van Hamel before shooting straight at the goalkeeper minutes later.
