Jeremy Clement is determined for Paris St Germain to finish 2009 on a high after an inconsistent opening few months of the season.
PSG are 11th in Ligue 1 and entertain 17th-placed St Etienne on Sunday in the first of three matches against teams currently lying in the bottom four of the table.
The Parisiens will also meet mid-table Rennes in their four fixtures before the end of the year and Clement is in optimistic mood, despite last weekend's 1-0 loss at Bordeaux.
The midfielder is targeting maximum points from the rest of December.
"We want to finish the year well," he told L'Equipe.
"We have four matches in 10 days, we'll see what happens.
"One thing is for sure is that we must take maximum points.
"There are three home games (St Etienne, Lens and Grenoble), you want to take points from those games.
"After the crushing defeat at Bordeaux, we're looking forward to playing in front of our home crowd on Sunday."
PSG's inconsistency has been their major problem so far this season, with six wins, four draws and five defeats this term.
Clement believes the team are fortunate to be in their mid-table position, only nine points off the top of the standings heading into this weekend's Ligue 1 action.
"We're lucky because the championship is very tight," he said.
Mevlut Erding is optimistic of participating this weekend despite a knee problem.
However, if he is unavailable, Jean-Eudes Maurice and Ludovic Giuly will support Peguy Luyindula in attack.
St Etienne have four wins and nine defeats from 16 matches this term.
The visitors lost 4-0 at Lille on Thursday and are without a win in four Ligue 1 games prior to the trip to PSG.
St Etienne coach Alain Perrin called on his players to take the initiative to their opponents.
"We can't just be happy to defend, we have to be capable of using the ball correctly, having the will to impose ourselves and not only waiting for the weakness of opponents to get into the game," he said.
