Nurnberg were 3-2 winners at Wolfsburg thanks to a dramatic winner deep in stoppage time.
Albert Bunjaku put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute but Ashkan Dejagah equalised within three minutes.
Bunjuku restored Nurnberg's advantage in the 64th minute but Wolfsburg responded well again and levelled thanks to a Grafite penalty 10 minutes from time.
But Nurnberg had the final say with Peer Kluge scoring the winner with the final touch of the game.
Wolfsburg were pegged back in their own half by a very confident Nurnberg right from the very beginning, Christian Eigler missing a hatful of early chances to put the visitors ahead.
The Wolves almost went ahead with their first chance of the game in the 23rd minute, defender Alexander Madlung probably should have done better with his header from six yards out from a corner.
Edin Dzeko then placed two shots wide as Wolfsburg started to make a game of it.
Nurnberg took a deserved lead in the 56th minute when Bunjaku this time left Benaglio no chance with his shot from close to the penalty spot.
Their lead lasted just three minutes, though, before substitute Dejagah scored with practically his first touch of the ball since coming on.
Much of the credit for the goal must go to Dzeko, who unselfishly fed Dejagah when he had just Raphael Schafer to beat.
Bunjuku's second of the game five minutes later restored Nurnberg's advantage as he stole in to head Daniel Gygax's cross unstoppably past Benaglio from close range.
Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh reacted by bringing Obafemi Martins on for captain Josue to play the final 20 minutes with three strikers.
They raised the pressure and thought they had levelled when Zvjezdan Misimovic scrambled the ball in, but the referee felt he had fouled Schafer in the process.
But a foul on Dejagah by Juri Judt inside the penalty area gave the home side the chance to level from the spot in the 79th minute.
Grafite took it to score his second goal in as many games with Schafer managing to get his fingertips to the ball, but not enough to keep it out.
But there was a final twist in the tale as Kluge grabbed all three points for Nurnberg with the final kick of the game.
Wolfsburg over-committed themselves to a corner as they looked for the winner and allowed Nurnberg to race clear on the counter-attack, Gygax squaring for Kluge to stroke the ball home.
