Heerenveen midfielder Danijel Pranjic looks set to miss his side's next two outings after picking up a hamstring injury.
The Croatia international was forced off during Sunday's 2-1 win at home to NEC Nijmegen and is still struggling with the injury.
"We take no risks. When we have doubts Danijel will not play," Heerenveen physio Erik ten Voorde told the club's official website.
The news will come as a blow to Heerenveen as Pranjic has been in a rich vein of form since the start of the season, hitting four goals in three games to sit atop the early Eredivisie scoring chart.
The playmaker will likely sit out Wednesday's KNVB Beker encounter with Jupiler League outfit MVV and Friday's Eredivisie game with NAC Breda.
