Edson Braafheid has denied agreeing to join Ajax before completing his transfer to Bayern Munich.
The full-back opted to leave FC Twente for the Bundesliga club this week, and although he admitted to talks with Ajax, he insists no deal was struck.
"I didn't have an agreement with Ajax," Braafheid told AD Sportwereld.
"We did speak with them, yes, but those talks didn't go smoothly.
"The last talks before I joined the national team (for this week's World Cup qualifiers) even gave us a bad feeling.
"They were about possible conditions in the event of a contract."
PSV Eindhoven were also keen to sign the 26-year-old Holland international, who insists he is joining countryman Louis van Gaal in Bavaria with the intention of securing regular first-team football.
"Bayern were more decisive than other clubs," He added. "I can say that Louis van Gaal has convinced me of signing for his club.
"Bayern signed me for two positions. That of right-back and also as central defender.
"I go for a starter's place at the club and in addition for a place in the squad for the World Cup.
"The bigger the challenge, the better."
