Meyler has agreed a loan deal until January 1 at the Championship club as he links up again with former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.

The 23-year-old has only made one start for Sunderland this term, making four more appearances from the bench

Sunderland are happy to loan out Meyler so that he can get some valuable first-team action under his belt after an injury-plagued last couple of seasons.

Meyler is set to go straight into the Hull squad for this weekend's clash with Cardiff and he is the second new arrival at the KC Stadium following the arrival of Republic of Ireland colleague Robbie Brady from Manchester United.
