Kader Mangane: Says several clubs were interested in signing him on loan

Mangane recently departed Saudi Arabia for Wearside, joining the Black Cats on loan until the end of the season with an option for a permanent switch in the summer.

The Senegal defender is determined to impress for Sunderland in order to earn a long-term move to England and claims several Premier League sides are keen, with Everton, QPR, Fulham and Aston Villa believed to be among them.

Mangane told France Football: "The objective of my loan is to prove myself for four or five months and then stay at Sunderland or join another English club.

"During the final days (before my transfer) several clubs contacted my agent to hire me, but I already gave my word to Sunderland."

Mangane was linked with a move to West Ham in the summer but a deal failed to materialise.

The defender admits the prospect of an English move was too good to turn down, adding: "Last summer it was not sorted out with West Ham when it should have been.

"At Al-Hilal everything went off smoothly. Then, I had the opportunity to join Sunderland. As there was always the desire inside of me to go to England I said: 'Why not?'

"My departure from Al-Hilal shocked a lot of people. The fans didn't understand why the officials let me go."
