The 29-year-old joined Sunderland from Italian champions Juventus last summer, but struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular for the Premier League outfit.
The Italy international scored four goals and provided as many assists in 16 league starts in the 2013/14 campaign, and there have been reports that Roma are interested in his services.
Giaccherini has now said that he would be “happy” to play for the Serie A club, but is quick to point out that he is content with life at Sunderland.
“I feel good in England,” he told Radio Mana Mana. “It was a very good season for me from a professional point of view. I now know the Premier League and I am fascinated by it.
“Roma’s interest in me? I do not know anything. I’ve only read the news on the internet.
“Roma are a big club and I think every player would be happy to play with them, but there’s nothing (for now).”
Giaccherini’s agent, Furio Valcareggi, has also denied that Fiorentina have made contact with him over the services of the player.
“I know (Fiorentina’s sports director) Daniele Prade and (Fiorentina’s technical director) Eduardo Macia and they have not contacted me,” he told Lady Radio. “If there was an interest from Fiorentina, then they would have called me.”
