Neil Taylor: Injured defender close to signing a new deal at Swansea

Taylor has been in talks over a contract extension for a number of weeks.

The left-back has established himself as one of Swansea's key performers since arriving from Wrexham in 2010.

The Wales international was instrumental in Swansea's success in the Premier League last term and he represented Team GB in the 2012 Olympics.

Taylor, who suffered multiple fractures and a dislocation to his left ankle in the third game of this season, is making good progress with his rehabilitation and the club are keen to reward him with an extension despite the defender still having two-and-half-years to run on his current terms.

Swansea have recently tied down defender Ashley Williams and Michel Vorm to new contracts and Taylor is set to follow suit by signing a long-term deal.
