Jonathan De Guzman: Says he is reaping the rewards of his move to Swansea

The midfielder is currently on loan from Villarreal and he has featured in all but one of the Swans' Premier League games this season.

He earned his first Holland cap as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Italy last week and he says he is thankful to Michael Laudrup for bringing him to South Wales.

He said: "It was a great experience. It vindicates my decision to come here in a team that suits me, with a manager that believes in me.

"I don't want this to end - I am enjoying my football and want this to last as long as possible.

"Swansea put themselves on the map in their first season in the Premier League. This year was always going to be difficult but we've carried on playing our football and it has worked well for me. It is great to be a part of this club."

The Swans are currently away in Dubai preparing for Sunday's Premier League trip to Anfield and De Guzman is optimistic about their chances having already won there in the League Cup this season.

"It would be great to get the result and take some points there. We had a fantastic win there earlier this season," he said.

"But we cannot underestimate Liverpool. They play some great football but don't always get the results, so it'll be a very difficult game but one we look forward to.

"The confidence we have as a team is great and we felt back to our best against QPR."
