The Swans lie bottom of the Premier League after the first two games of the season, albeit tough ones against Manchester United and Spurs, and they have so far only scored one goal domestically.

They also lost the second-leg of their Europa League play-off tie 2-1 against Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania on Thursday, and head into the clash with West Brom on Saturday in need of a confidence boost.

"In Romania we had the luxury of a 5-1 lead to fall back on. When we play in the league we do not have that. Every game is just a one-off," Laudrup said.

"So we have to be better in this area. You do not get eight chances away from home, whether that be in Europe or in the Premier League.

"We have to be much sharper on Sunday when we have these possibilities."

Wilfred Bony missed the game in Romania with an ankle injury, which gave Rory Donnelly a chance up front, and Laudrup was full of praise for the youngster's performance.

"He did fantastic, I only told him he was playing a couple of hours before the game," the Dane said. "It was a big thing for him to come in and play in the first XI in a game in Europe and he did very well."

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
