The Saints claimed a 2-0 Premier League success at St Mary's on Sunday with goals in either half from Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez.

But Saints keeper Artur Boruc was in superb form and Laudrup bemoaned his side's luck.

"With the positive glasses on, I think we performed very well and apart from the first 15 to 20 minutes, we dominated the game and we had our chances, especially in the first half," Laudrup told Sky Sports.

"They got a nice goal but we just continued and after that we really came into the game - the whole second half was just us - but we still need too many chances to score.

"I can't say anything about the performance. I think I said after the St Gallen game that they (the Swiss side) deserved more, but today I think we deserved more."

Laudrup insisted his side showed no reaction to having played in Europe on Thursday.

"No, because if you're tired, it should be the last 20 minutes," he said.

"I have analysed a lot of our games but we don't seem to have problems in the second halves and that is good, but again it depends how the game is going because I think we were dominating.

"We had the ball the whole time and you don't feel the tiredness, but we couldn't get the equaliser and then in the last five minutes, they got the second goal."

Laudrup admits his team need to show a more clinical side, although he insists that it is not a constant issue.

"We created chances which is important but we need to be more clinical in these games. But on the other hand, we won in Europe when we were clinical," he said.

"I think the most important thing is that we do create chances and in some games, and not all, that in the last third we have to finish a bit more."

Despite an indifferent start to the campaign, Laudrup is far from unhappy and feels the next month will be a real gauge of how his team is performing.

"I think we have played seven games and have one point less than last year and four away games and three home games that have been Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool," he said. "Now we have a break which is good after seven games in 20 days.

"I think we have three home games in four and a derby with Cardiff so that will be an important month."

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

Trial And Error Rather Than Transition

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
