The Dane's footballing philosophies were carefully considered when he was appointed as Brendan Rodgers' successor at the Liberty Stadium.

He has stuck to the ball-playing blueprint and guided Swansea to a top-half finish in the Premier League and a first piece of major silverware - in the shape of the 2013 Capital One Cup.

Building on that success is now the challenge for all concerned, but Laudrup will not be changing his ways.

He remains calm under pressure and helped to inspire a four-goal second half showing against Sunderland on Saturday without the need for dressing room theatrics.

Britton said of the Swans boss: "The gaffer's not a ranter and raver but he gets his message across.

"He just said that if we could raise our game, we could get the win.

"We said before the start of this week, three home games with two in the league is a big week.

"We need to pick up the points and this is the perfect start."
