Steven Caulker: Expecting a special atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender is determined to help Malky Mackay's side continue their solid defensive form following a clean sheet in the goalless draw at Norwich City on Saturday.

Caulker, who spent a year on loan at the Liberty Stadium before returning to Spurs where he made 28 appearances last term, is expecting a special derby atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"I can't wait for the South Wales derby, it's going to be massive," said the 21-year-old Londoner. "I loved my time in South Wales last time around and the people are great.

"The derby is going to be special. As soon as the move to Cardiff came up I was excited to come back to Wales - and these big matches are exactly what I want to be playing in.

"I have one eye on the World Cup at the end of the season, of course. Joining Cardiff was a move designed to aid my England hopes and matches like this one against Swansea will generate huge interest.

"I believe I have developed as a player over the last couple of years and am still working to improve my game all the time."

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.

'Tactically Inept And Lacking In Belief And Style'

It's fair to say that the 'Moyes Out' brigade is understandably out in force, whilst there are also staunch defences of Mourinho and Arteta. Plus, Liverpool fans can almost taste it.
