The Welsh side stormed into a two-goal lead before half-time thanks to a double from Jonathan de Guzman.

Winger Wayne Routledge sealed the win in the second half and, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Monk was pleased to take all the points.

He said: "I think we played better than we did today in previous weeks and not come away with anything.

"It was good when we were playing well and on top that we got the goals our play deserved. We won it comfortably in the end.

"We had spells but we weren't as good as previous games and I told the players that at the end.

"But in the spells we were playing well, we were very good. We can always get better and today is a good marker for the players."

Norwich responded well in the second period and Monk was happy to score the third.

He added: "The first 10 or 15 minutes after the break we were sloppy and if you don't start well the anxiety comes into the crowd and you feel it with the players who can then sometimes get a little bit tired.

"We settled and got back to it and made some good breaks though and that was important for the players. The third goal helped us a lot."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
