The Ecuador international has signed a four-year contract and immediately joined his new team-mates on the Swans training ground after passing a morning medical.

The 24-year-old, who has also had spells with Villarreal, Levante and Real Betis, featured for his country at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

Montero is Swansea boss Garry Monk’s fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bafetimbi Gomis, Marvin Emnes and Stephen Kingsley.
