Spurs have been quick to strengthen their squad in the current transfer window as they pursue of a top-four finish this season.

The 20-year-old, who has been capped by England in three youth categories, can play left-back or in central defence.

Fryers started his career at Manchester United and was restricted to just two appearances because of injuries prior to his move to Liege last August, when Spurs were credited with an interest in the defender.

A statement from Tottenham read: "We're delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Standard Liege for the signing of Zeki Fryers."
