Walker joined Spurs from Sheffield United in July 2009 and, following a loan back at Bramall Lane and spells at Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa, he has gone on to become Andre Villas-Boas' first choice right-back.

Walker, now an England squad regular under Roy Hodgson, made more appearances than any other Spurs player last season.

The 23-year-old was voted Young Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association in 2012 and so far has made 112 appearances for the White Hart Lane side.

"I think with the players that we brought in in the summer, and the way we've started the league, it was an easy decision for me," Walker told Sky Sports News.

"I love the club, I love the staff, the players, everyone around Tottenham. Hopefully I can repay the chairman with his faith on the pitch.

"I want a few more goals. Hopefully we can get that top-four spot."

Walker was also asked if the atmosphere at White Hart Lane for the 1-0 Premier League home win over Hull City felt flat at all.

"I think it's difficult," he added. "People want end-to-end games - they pay really good money to watch exciting football, and sometimes it's not like that. When teams come and put seven behind the ball, it's a little bit difficult.

"We do it in training countless times. You can play five against 10 - and they never score, it's so difficult. But at the end of the day, we got the three points. That's all that really matters. We're thankful for that, and we go on to the next game."

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
