Richard Keogh: Keen to stay put

Keogh has a year-and-a-half left on his current deal but wants to extend his stay at the Ricoh Arena beyond that time.

"I understand the club want to talk about a new deal and once the dust has settled we can sit down and have a conversation," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"I'm settled here, I'm playing the best football of my career and I'm very grateful to Coventry for giving me that chance."

Keogh has forged a partnership at the heart of Coventry's defence with Martin Cranie, who is out of contract this summer, and he is keen for the pair to remain together next season.

He added: "Martin and I are mates off the pitch so perhaps we can push each other along and see what happens."
