Nicklas Bendtner: Sunderland move is not

Striker Nicklas Bendtner has admitted he may not stay at Sunderland even if he is offered the opportunity.

The 24-year-old Denmark international is currently on a season-long loan deal at the Stadium of Light from parent club Arsenal and has scored seven goals so far.

Manager Martin O'Neill is yet to make a decision on a player who was signed by predecessor Steve Bruce as he plots the way forward, with the striking department likely to be on of his priorities this summer.

However, Bendtner told www.Sporten.tv2.dk: "Never say never about Sunderland, but it is not certain that I will be here if the opportunity arises.

"About Arsenal, I obviously have to have a chat with the club about it [his future], but it's not there that the first priority is going to be. I think I have been fairly clear about it."

However, Bendtner revealed he has enjoyed his time on Wearside despite the nasty facial injury which left him playing in a protective mask.

He said: "It's been great to come up here and get games.

"It's different than what I was used to at Arsenal, but it's been a good period for me."
