Peterborough goalkeeper Paul Jones has rejected the club's offer of a new contract and could leave London Road this summer.
Jones, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has spent much of the campaign as the first-choice keeper at Posh.
Manager Darren Ferguson has not given up on persuading Jones to stay and negotiations with the 25-year-old's representatives are ongoing. However, Ferguson admits he has lined up potential targets in case a deal cannot be struck.
"We offered Paul a contract but it has been turned down and we are at something of a standstill with it," Ferguson told the media. "We are still in talks but it is fair to say they have not been fruitful so far.
"I have identified other targets and we do have interest in another goalkeeper, but I want Paul to stay here and hopefully we can get it sorted."
Peterborough could be left needing to sign two new goalkeepers during the summer with fellow shot-stopper Joe Lewis likely to depart following the end of his contract.
