Stanislav Griga: Will lead Slovakia alon

Stanislav Griga and Michal Hipp have been appointed joint-coaches of the Slovakian national side.

The Slovakian Football Federation made the move on Thursday after failing to secure the release of Czech Pavel Vrba from Viktoria Plzen.

Griga, 50, and Hipp, 49, who succeed Vladimir Weiss following his departure in January, have signed 20-month contracts and will lead the team in qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

Slovakia have been drawn in Group G alongside Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lithuania, Latvia and Liechtenstein.
