James Coppinger: Ipswich target last sum

Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger could be tempted to move to Ipswich this summer following Rovers' recent relegation.

Coppinger came close to joining the Tractor Boys last summer but the deal fell through and he admits he would be happy for the move to be reignited.

"I think Ipswich is a great club. I have some friends who have played at Ipswich in the past and they speak highly of the club and the place," he told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"With them being in the Championship and an ambitious club, it is always somewhere you would look to go.

"At this stage in my career and life, it wouldn't put me off moving to Suffolk. You just want to play at the highest standard you can for as long as you can.

"It was on the cards last season. It was a big decision for me, I knew Paul Jewell was interested and I spoke with the chairman - but it wasn't to be."
