Di Canio: Pleads his case

Di Canio has been banned from making any further additions to his squad after the Football League ruled the club to have breached Financial Fair Play regulations.

Swindon chairman Jeremy Wray confirmed on Saturday that the npower League One club had exceeded the allowed 65 per cent of their turnover on salaries and transfer fees, ensuring books must be balanced before Di Canio can make any more improvements to his squad.

The Italian told the Swindon Advertiser: "I asked only to work the way I can send out some players and bring in some players.

"If I can't, it will be very tough and we have to tell the fans that.

"A team that really wants to go up in this moment cancels the embargo."
