Brondby have re-signed Liverpool defender Daniel Agger for a fee in the region of £3million.
Brendan Rodgers has warned fringe players they will get limited game time if they do not leave on transfer deadline day.
The 31-year-old's short-term contract expires in January, meaning he could leave the club for free.
Leeds are keen to keep hold of the ex-Liverpool forward, who has impressed during his time in the npower Championship, scoring five times in his 22 appearances, and have opened talks with the player's representatives.
His agent Willie McKay told the Daily Mail: "We have spoken to the chief executive Shaun Harvey and we hope to have something sorted soon."
