Mikael Lustig: Wants to stay

Celtic defender Mikael Lustig is unaware of any interest from Rubin Kazan, after reports the Russian club were looking to sign him in January.

The Sweden international insists he has no plans to leave Celtic and reckons there will be little movement from any of the squad with the Champions League last 16 on the horizon.

Neil Lennon's men reached the knockout stages of the competition coming through Group G ahead of Benfica and Spartak Moscow to finish second behind Barcelona.

"I think every player will want to play in the last 16," Lustig said. "It has been a long journey to reach that goal and now we are here I think all of the players would like to stay."

The 26-year-old full-back reckons a trip to Spain may suit Celtic, but he believes many observers will expect the Scottish Champions to lose by regardless of their opponents.

Lustig added: "We are going to be underdogs whoever we get, although on paper Malaga could be a good draw for us.

"We were probably underdogs in every group game and we handled that pressure quite well."
