Valenciennes coach Daniel Sanchez has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him at the Ligue 1 club until 2014.

Sanchez, who has previously coached Tours and was assistant coach at St Etienne and Bordeaux, joined VA last year on an original contract that was due to expire next June.

A statement on the club's official website, va-fc.com, said: "Valenciennes coach Daniel Sanchez will tonight commit to VAFC until 2014.

"President Jean-Raymond Legrand and Daniel Sanchez welcome this extension, which will allow them to continue to work together for the success of VAFC."
