Parker: Set for Norway move

Former Leeds defender Ben Parker could be set for a move to Norway.

Parker, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Leeds last summer, is set to link up with Sarpsborg 08 on trial.

The 25-year-old was poised to join Bury last month after impressing on trial, but the deal fell through because of the transfer embargo placed on the League One club.

Parker is now considering a move to Norway after being invited for a two-week training stint with the Tippeligaen outfit.

Former Leeds striker Brian Deane is manager of Sarpsborg 08 and he is thought to be a big admirer of Parker.

If Parker impresses during his stint at Sarpsborg 08 he could be offered a permanent move to the club.
