Yago Falque: Leaving Spurs for a loan sp

Tottenham midfielder Yago Falque has joined Primera Liga promotion hopefuls Almeria on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old Spain U21 international has returned home after struggling to make an impact with Spurs following his move from Villarreal in August 2011.

Falque initially joined Tottenham on a season-long loan but that was turned into a permanent deal a year ago.

He joined Southampton on loan after making that permanent switch but was substituted at half-time on his debut against Leicester and failed to make another appearance for Saints.

Falque has featured in Capital One Cup and Europa League games for Spurs this season and made his Premier League debut as a late substitute in the 2-1 defeat at Everton in December.

Almeria are currently second in the Spanish second division table behind runaway leaders Elche.
