Bacary Sagna: Hoping to lift a trophy be

The French full-back is under contract at Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2014, and extension talks are underway.

Sagna is, however, yet to commit himself to a new deal, with it understood that he is hoping for more than a 12-month offer.

With it unclear as to how long he will be sticking around in North London, speculation has linked the 29-year-old with Inter Milan and Paris St Germain.

Sagna admits he cannot say for certain that he will still be at Arsenal next season, but hopes he will be given the chance to get his hands on some silverware before taking on a new challenge.

He told atlantiquefootballclub.com: "Honestly, I'm under contract with Arsenal and I give everything so long as I am under contract with my club.

"Before leaving, because I will leave here one day, I would like to win something with my club. I don't want to answer yes or no now because in football you never know what will happen."

Asked how he would sum up Arsenal's progress this season, Sagna added: "Slow. We had problems starting for several reasons, we lost important players. Some new ones arrived as well. We know it takes a bit of time for everyone to be ready.

"The rest of the season will be very, very hard. With teams like Manchester United and Manchester City who never give up. But we want to do the best second half of the season possible.

"We have to go as far as possible in the cups. We're outsiders (for the UEFA Champions League) but we still have quite a bit of pressure. The fact we haven't won anything for quite a while means people are expecting a lot from us."
