Carlos Edwards: Extends his contract

Ipswich skipper Carlos Edwards will remain at the club until the end of the 2013/14 campaign after triggering a clause in his contract.

The 34-year-old signed a one-year deal last season with an option of a further 12 months if he made a set number of appearances.

The Trinidad international arrived at Portman Road in 2009 after being signed by Roy Keane and was handed the captaincy by Paul Jewell last season.

He has made 31 appearances for Mick McCarthy's side this season.
