George Boyd: Wanted by Hull

Hull manager Steve Bruce is waiting to hear back from Peterborough's George Boyd about the possibility of a loan move to the KC Stadium.

The Tigers' leading marksman last season, Matty Fryatt, has been ruled out for this campaign due to an Achilles injury, while current top goalscorer Sone Aluko has been sidelined for two months with a similar problem.

Hull spurned several goalscoring chances in the weekend defeat at Brighton and Bruce's frustration is growing.

"We made an enquiry (about Boyd)," Bruce said after Saturday's 1-0 defeat. "That is all we did. He is someone who is out of contract in the summer and we inquired about him. We will see what the next 24 to 48 hours bring."

Winger Aluko, a free summer signing following his release from Rangers, is hoping to return to action before the end of the month, while recent signing Gedo, a 70th-minute substitute at Brighton, is not match fit.
