Akwasi Asante: Moves to Shrewsbury on lo

Birmingham pair Akwasi Asante and Jack Deaman have joined Shrewsbury and Cheltenham respectively on loan deals until the end of the campaign.

Holland-born striker Asante, 20, arrived at Birmingham Academy as a youngster and went on to make his first-team debut in the Europa League early last season before linking up with Northampton for a brief loan spell.

He will now look to gain further experience in Shrewsbury's bid for npower League One survival.

Defender Deaman, 19, has also been on the periphery of Blues' first-team squad and will hope to attract the attention of boss Lee Clark while helping Cheltenham's battle for promotion from League Two.
