The 36-year-old joined the Sicilian outfit on a two-year deal in the summer of 2011 and has now penned a new contract that will keep him with the Elephants until 2014.

Legrottaglie has been capped by Italy 16 times, although he has not represented his country since 2009, and has also had spells with Bari, Chievo, Juventus and AC Milan.
