Brent Hills: In temporary charge

England Women's Under-23 head coach Brent Hills will take temporary charge of the senior team for next month's opening two World Cup qualifiers, the Football Association has announced.

Hills takes over the reins from Hope Powell, whose 15-year reign as head coach came to an end on Tuesday as the FA felt the time was right for a "fresh outlook".

Hills, who was assistant coach to Powell, will lead England in the double-header against Belarus and Turkey as the Lionesses begin their bid to qualify for Canada in 2015 and reach a third successive World Cup finals.

England start their Group 6 campaign against Belarus at Bournemouth's Dean Court on September 21 and then play host to Turkey at Portsmouth's Fratton Park five days later.

Also in the same group are Wales, Ukraine and Montenegro.

The FA is advertising for the vacant position of England Women's senior head coach and also for the new position of head of elite women's development.
