Kenwyne Jones' loan departure from Cardiff was a 'business' decision, according to Bluebirds boss Russell Slade.
Reported West Ham target Lamine Sane is happy to put his dream of playing in England on hold and stay with Bordeaux this season.
The Senegal defender was linked with the Hammers in January and again this summer, but expects to see out the campaign in Ligue 1 after the two clubs could not reach an agreement.
"I think Bordeaux are asking too much, but if it doesn't happen it's because it's not the time," Sane told L'Equipe. "We will see between now and the end of the transfer window.
"Even though I dream of playing in England and even though it is likely I will go there eventually, I think I will be staying here for the whole season."
Several of Bordeaux's players find themselves in a similar position but Sane insists it has not been a distraction in their mixed start to the season.
"Honestly, no," he said. "It's true that certain players hoped for offers and that the market has not developed as they would have liked, but in our heads we are all still loyal to Bordeaux. There has been no frustration."
Les Girondins, Coupe de France winners last season, were beaten 2-1 by league champions Paris St Germain in the Trophee des Champions and lost their opening league game to newly promoted Monaco, but have since drawn with Toulouse and beaten Bastia.
