Mario Yepes: Keen on a move to England

Yepes was one of Colombia's stand-out performers at the finals in Brazil as he captained them to their best ever finish at the World Cup - as they reached the quarter-finals for the first time in their history before losing to Brazil.

Despite being 38-years-old, Yepes showed no signs of slowing up at the World Cup as he played every minute of Colombia's four games and had a goal harshly disallowed in the quarter-final defeat to Brazil.

Yepes has a wealth of experience having played for the likes of River Plate, Paris Saint Germain and AC Milan during his stellar career.

During his time in France with PSG, Yepes was nicknamed “Super Mario" as a reference to his defensive abilities and fitness levels.

The classy central defender is currently a free agent after leaving Atalanta and he is thought to be keen on trying his luck in England.

Agent Gino Culbertson and his company Excel management & Promotions, have the exclusive UK mandate for Yepes and he confirmed he is talking to several clubs about signing the South American.

"I am already talking to several clubs who have shown an interest in Mario," Culbertson told Sky Sports.

"Mario is keen to finish his career in the UK and with his experience and undoubted talent he would be a valuable addition for anyone."
